Together We Achieve
Parkview Colony School is located just north of Riding Mountain Village along
Highway 5. It is part of the home of Parkview Pre-Cast. The School provides the
education for all students in Grades K to 12. We have three classrooms: one
Grade k to 3, one Grade 4 to 8 and one for Grade 9 to 12. Almost high school
course requirements and options are offered in the school by the high school
teacher. An automotive course is available for boys in grades 7 to 10 in a
neighboring school. These High School courses are integrated into the Colony as
much as possible with their assistance to ensure collaboration with traditions,
culture and needs.
There are currently 4 staff made up of three teachers—one for each of the
classrooms—and one educational assistant. We have 36 students spread
throughout the grades.
Parkview Colony School follows the Provincial Curricula for courses for
graduation with a 30 credit Provincial certificate. It follows the Hutterite Calendar
for religious observances of the colony. The school acknowledges the need for
the public school to operate within the scope of colony life and expectations. This
school operates on a 5 day cycle, different from the 6 day cycle of the School
Division.
The School has a positive working relationship with the community to ensure that
the cultural practices are recognized, encouraged and honored.
